《施氏食狮史》是一篇由赵元任所写的设限文章。全文共九十一字（连标题九十六字），每字的普通话发音都是shi。原文：                   

《施氏食狮史》

　　石室诗士施氏，嗜狮，誓食十狮。施氏时时适市视狮。十时，适十狮适市。是时，适施氏适市。氏视是十狮，恃矢势，使是十狮逝世。氏拾是十狮尸，适石室。石室湿，氏使侍拭石室。石室拭，氏始试食是十狮。食时，始识是十狮，实十石狮尸。试释是事。
　　
    只用一个发音来叙述一件事，除了中文，怕是再无其他语言能做到了。背景话说50年代初期，有人提议汉字全部拼音，以解除小学生识数千汉字的痛苦。语言学大师赵元任老先生大不以为然，戏写一文施氏食狮史。全文共92字，每字的普通話发音都是shi。這篇文言作品在阅读时并没有问题，但当用拼音朗读本作品時，问题便出现了，这是古文同音字多的缘故。趙元任希望通过篇文字，引证中文拉丁化所带来的荒谬。
    据称，本文为汉语中最难读的一篇，如要尝试，请先备清水一杯、小棍一把，以免舌齿受伤。

《遗镒疑医》

伊姨殪，遗亿镒。伊诣邑，意医姨疫，一医医伊姨。翌，亿镒遗，疑医，以议医。医以伊疑，缢，以移伊疑。伊倚椅以忆，忆以亿镒遗，以议伊医，亦缢。噫！亦异矣！

曾任都柏林天文台副台长的华人天文学家江涛，也用发音为“yi”的同音字写了一则71字的故事——《易姨医胰》，该文与《遗镒疑医》堪称双绝：
易姨悒悒，依议诣夷医。医疑胰疫，遗意易姨倚椅，以异仪移姨胰，弋异蚁一亿，胰液溢，蚁殪，胰以医。易胰怡怡，贻医一夷衣。医衣夷衣，怡怡奕奕。噫！以蚁医胰，异矣！以夷衣贻夷医亦宜矣！

大意是：易阿姨闷闷不乐，大家叫她去看洋人医生。医生怀疑她胰脏有毛病，叫她靠在椅子上，用特殊的仪器移动他的胰脏，并设法取来一亿只特殊的蚂蚁配合治疗。结果胰脏的液汁流出来，蚂蚁死去，胰病得到医治。易阿姨非常高兴，送给医生一套洋装。医生穿上洋装，十分高兴，非常精神。啊！用蚂蚁来医治胰脏的疾病，多么奇特呵！把洋装送给洋医生，又多么适宜啊！               

《于瑜与余欲渔遇雨》

The Chimney-Sweeper

When my mother died I was very young,

3号，武汉市，黄陂区，木兰山，木兰天池

     原本这个假期是为九畹溪漂流而设计的，但由于种种原因，我的九畹溪之行第2次搁浅。
     其实十一去旅游并不是什么明智之举，大家都知道这一点。人、人、人，除了人还是人。但闲在家里亦无聊，所以挤点总比无聊好，于是一个个争着旅游去。大家都无聊，于是无聊的人就聚到一起，那么情况就另当别论了。
     木兰天池在武汉还算是蛮有名的，据说堪称是武汉的后花园。木兰山应该属于武汉郊区了吧，光坐车就花了2个多小时。一路上也没有兴致去欣赏沿途的风景。为了赶上旅行社的行程，早上六点就起床了，于是几乎是一路睡过去的。
     木兰山，不是很高，作为武汉的后花园，人为因素已经掺和得太多了。十一，那就更不用说了。满山的人。一路爬山，还是很累的。虽然沿途风景点不少，但一个风景点就有一群人占着，欣赏、拍照、然后回家继续欣赏。
     总算在山腰占到一席之地，于是坐下，感受。摇曳的水草，潺潺的流水，丝丝的凉意。山、水的感觉。也就在这里，我稍稍感觉到一点的满意。
     到了山顶，就是所谓的天池，我不能多说什么，但毕竟是一个池，而且在山上，绿树，绿水，还有就是游乐项目。在山上玩到下午，就匆匆下山了。
     木兰之旅，结束。总得来说，应该还是蛮好玩的，唯一的遗憾的就是人太多，估计这也是所有人会抱怨的问题，毕竟木兰山又不是你的，你能怎么办？
